Tatyana Kipchatova

Head, Social Department at the Russian Field Office, Eurasia Foundation

Tatyana Kipchatova is the Head of the Social Department at the Russian Field Office of the Eurasia Foundation, a privately managed American grantmaking organization working in NIS (Newly Independent State) countries to promote economic and democratic reforms. Ms. Kipchatova holds a Master's Degree in Science from the Saratov' State University and Law Degree from the Saratov Law Academy. She has eight years of experience operating and managing grant programs in Russia, a track record unique in the country. Through designing and implementing grant programs that create innovative mechanisms of social programs funding, she has contributed to the emergence of local grantmaking institutions in Russia, including community foundations. She is involved in activities developed to transform EF Russia into indigenous grantmaking organization. Due to Ms. Kipchatova's efforts as a key member of the EF fundraising team, EF Russia succeeded in raising funds from local corporate, private and government sources to implement joint social programs benefiting local communities.

The Eurasia Foundation was established in 1992 as a privately managed grantmaking organization dedicated to funding programs that build democratic and free market institutions in the twelve New Independent States of the former Soviet Union. To achieve its mission, the Foundation employs grantmaking programs for host country organizations and individuals; grantmaking programs for American and other organizations working with partners in the host countries; and projects initiated and managed by the Foundation. Its programs include, but are not limited to, support for Russian Unions of Entrepreneurs, Program in Support of Rural Credit Cooperatives, The Northwest Russia Small Grants Initiative, Building Community Partnerships in Obninsk, Contemporary Society Program, E-Commerce Competition, Regional Independent Radio Support Program and the Corruption Prevention Program.
