Surita Sandosham is Vice President, Programs at Synergos, a global nonprofit organization that brings people together to solve complex problems of poverty and create opportunities for individuals and their communities to thrive. She leads our efforts to build and support those partnerships around the world and also to support networks including our Senior Fellows and social entrepreneurs in the Middle East and North Africa.

Surita has been with Synergos since 2004, and in previous roles oversaw all of our global leadership networks and also served as founding CEO of the Bhavishya Alliance focused on child nutrition in India.

She also teaches a course on Multi-sector partnerships: A comparative perspective at New York University’s Wagner School of Public Service.

Prior to joining Synergos, Surita worked for the Rockefeller Foundation as Associate Director of Working Communities, directing the Next Generation Leadership Program. In addition, Surita has more than a decade of experience working in the nonprofit sector holding senior executive positions in leading international human and civil rights organizations including Lambda Legal Defense Fund, Equality Now, and Amnesty International USA.

Born and raised in Singapore, she holds a degree in history and politics from the London University’s School of Oriental and African Studies and a law degree from City University London. She is a trained barrister, admitted to Gray’s Inn (London) and has practiced law in both Singapore and New York.
