Katja is Gender Consultant in Synergos’ Nigeria office. Over the last ten years, Katja has played a lead role in notable international development initiatives while working with nonprofit organizations in Nigeria and the United States. In her previous role, Katja was the Director of the Elumelu Nigeria Empowerment Fund, a nonprofit organization seeded by the Tony Elumelu Foundation. At the Foundation, she developed and managed multiple pan-African programs including the Tony & Awele Elumelu Prize, which recognizes and rewards academic excellence and provides leadership opportunities for African students enrolled in over 30 universities across the continent.
Katja earned a Master’s degree in Public Administration with a focus on Nonprofit Management from Northeastern University in Boston, Massachusetts and a Bachelor’s in Political Science from Principia College, Elsah, Illinois.
