Eddie Bergman is President of Innovative Development Services (IDS), a New York-based real estate management and hospitality marketing firm, and CEO of Proxima Hospitality Group, which owns Hill and Bay in Murray Hill. A social entrepreneur and civic leader, Eddie co-founded MCW Global (Miracle Corners of the World) in 1999, an NGO dedicated to expanding access to education, health, and economic opportunities for young people across Africa and beyond. He also served as Executive Director of the Africa Travel Association (2006-2015), helping strengthen international tourism and public-private partnerships across the continent.
Eddie is a Goodwill Ambassador for AUDA-NEPAD (the African Union Development Agency) and an active member of the NYU community, serving on the President’s Global Council and several advisory boards, including those for the Tisch Center for Hospitality, Africa House, and Gallatin School. He has received numerous humanitarian recognitions, including the 2009 Ellis Island Medal of Honor, and holds both a BA in Hotel and Tourism Management and an MA in Social Entrepreneurship from NYU.
Recent highlights include Bergman’s induction into the NYU School of Professional Studies Hall of Fame (2024), a “Vision for the Future” feature on MCW Global’s social impact work, and the organization’s 25th anniversary reflection piece celebrating global youth leadership and community empowerment.
