Guiding values are key for understanding what drives and inspires work of members. Integrating these values is key to creating impactful philanthropic work. To understand the influence of ideals and values, members of the Spiritual Civilization group were asked, “To what extent do the following ideals guide you and your work?”:
- Faith
- Love
- Compassion
- Altruism
- Ethics
- Creativity
A qualitative analysis of the results show that participants greatly value the values of love and compassion. However, quantitative analysis shows that the guiding values most frequently practiced are compassion, altruism, and ethics.
