Laura Deckers is an Associate for Communications based in São Paulo, Brazil. She holds a degree in International Relations from Fundação Armando Alvares Penteado and a post-graduate degree in Political Science from Fundação Escola de Sociologia e Política de São Paulo. During her academic career, Laura has participated in HACIA Democracy run by Harvard University, was an academic director at Fórum FAAP, which simulates UN conventions for high school students, and a teacher’s aide for at her university’s Economics Department.
Laura's undergraduate dissertation, which analyzed the impact of anti-drug legislation on the penitentiary systems in Brazil and the United States, has been published. This topic, as well as other topics pertaining to security and human rights are of great interest to her.
