Rawan Barakat is dedicated to encouraging reading and appreciation of books in children, especially those who are visually impaired. To do this she is focused on creating the largest Arab Audio library in Jordan and subsequently the Arab world. Rawan wants to help children in Arab communities develop listening skills by producing audio books aimed for children. These books are recorded in a dramatic way, with sound effects and music to engage children and build an appreciation of literary material.
The audio books are specifically meant to help children who are visually impaired as there are not many resources for them to enjoy and appreciate books as well develop listening skills. The stories are enjoyed by all children and have a secondary effect of allowing the children to develop their imagination. After listening to the stories, the children are able to use their imagination and toys and other supplies to bring the stories to life.
