Dr. Beatriz Azeredo has a PhD in Economics from the Economics Institute of the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ). She is the Director of Social Responsibility for TV Globo as well as a professor of the Institute of Economics at UFRJ. In 1995, she was director of the Institute of Applied Economic Research (IPEA) for one year. From 1996 to 2003, she was the Director of Social Development and Urban Infrastructure and Planning of the Brazilian Development Bank (BNDES). Her doctoral thesis (1997) resulted in the book “Public Policy Job: The Brazilian Experience”. Also, she was director of the Center for the Study of Public Policy (CEPP), and the director of the Desiderata Institute from 2003 to 2011.
