Presence in Chaos

A “hands-on” virtual event
Wednesday, April 1, 2020 • 9:00-10:30AM ET

A virus has unified the world and brought it to a halt. It has created immense pain and loss. And death, a mostly hidden part of life, has become subject of constant talk.

What if such time of disruption comes with a unique opportunity for us to create a whole new relationship with ourselves, with each other and with the natural world?

We came together for conversation on how we can be present to the incredible turbulence of this moment, how we might learn the lessons it offers us, and simply be in community, listen to one another and be connected with friends and fellow humans on this astounding journey.

Peggy Dulany

Peggy is Chair of Synergos, a global organization helping solve complex issues around the world by advancing bridging leadership, which builds trust and collective action. Drawing from her experience living and working in Rio de Janeiro as a young woman, she realized that the people most affected by adverse living conditions also have the greatest energy and motivation to solve their problems. The resources they lack are connections to the economic and political realms where necessary changes can affect whole communities.

Marilia Bezerra

Marilia helps lead Synergos' Philanthropy program, including the Global Philanthropists Circle, a community of leading philanthropic families and social investors using their time, influence, and resources to fight poverty and social injustice in their own countries and around the world. She is also the founding partner of CARE Enterprises Inc., a for-profit subsidiary of CARE focused on creating gender justice through impact investment.
