Marka Vařeka is a Coordinator of the Global Philanthropist Circle, a network of leading philanthropic families from more than 30 countries committed to becoming more effective social investors. The GPC is a unique opportunity for philanthropists to increase the impact of their giving and fight global poverty and social injustice on a much larger scale.
Marka has experience both in the private and NGO sectors. She cooperated with the Association for Integration and Migration, Czech Republic, teaching and assisting migrants and she is also active in planning local intercultural events. Prior to working in the nonprofit field, Marka worked as a Brand Manager at a global advertising and PR agency Havas Worldwide Prague, where she handled pro bono campaigns for Amnesty International and Good Angel Foundation. Focusing also on commercial brands in financial and FMCG sector, she was responsible for strategic and conceptual management of the advertising campaigns, delivering creative communication solutions.
After graduating from Tomas Bata University Zlin with B.A. in Marketing Communication she earned M.A. in Media Studies from Charles University Prague. During her studies she also completed the PR Academy with a certificate from London School of PR. She is an ambassador of One Young World, a global summit searching for innovative solutions for global issues through cross-sectoral approach.
