Kgotso Schoeman
Kgotso Schoeman is the CEO of the Kagiso Trust , a non-partisan organization that addresses development and poverty alleviation in South Africa and seeks to improve the quality of life of the poor and marginalized.
Mr. Schoeman is a well-known community development activist and continues to play an active role in his hometown of Alexandra Township in Johannesburg, South Africa. He was part of the team that planned and implemented a successful fund-raising campaign which resulted in partnerships between national, international donor agencies and the local private sector. The funds raised were used to develop and build a multi-purpose community facility, which is today an integral part of the overall development of Alexandra. Mr. Schoeman has worked as a trainer in the NGO and CBO sector for over five years in areas such as proposal wiring, managing community-based organizations, and addressing conflict in communities.
The Kagiso Trust has recently implemented a new dialogue program that seeks to provide politicians, businessmen and women, civil society organizations, and ordinary South Africans with a safe and protected environment to discuss policy issues that impact poverty and service delivery in the country and to bridge the leadership divides among leaders and institutions.
