Ahmed Nabil established Mesta3gel in 2012 as Alexandria’s first bicycle sharing program. Mesta3gel has established multiple bicycle stations which can provide rentals for interested individuals, with a prime focus on serving youth and university students.
Additionally, Mesta3gel provides workshops on bike maintenance and collects information on recommended cycle routes in hopes of creating a mobile biking application. Mesta3gel is pursuing a comprehensive approach to expanding bike access in Egypt, and Ahmed is keen on making the project sustainable through the use of rental fees and possibility of advertising on the bicycles and sharing stations.
