Position Announcement: Synergos Consulting Services Intern


3-4 months [Spring semester] with possibility of extension

Unpaid internship. A transportation stipend will be provided to cover the cost of coming to the office

Job description and responsibilities

We are looking for 3 New York-based interns who can spend 1-2 days per week at Synergos office. The interns will be responsible for supporting our Consulting team in four main areas of work:

  • Delivering consulting engagements for clients (depending on adequacy between internship and timing of contracts)
  • Contributing to the development of knowledge and thought - leadership activities in the sector (writing content for conferences, articles, panel discussions)
  • Supporting our business development: conducting research on potential clients, benchmarking their social impact strategy, identifying their needs, supporting the writing of proposals based on first interactions with prospects, internal research and strategic brainstorming phase
  • Assisting in developing the Consulting Services team’s infrastructure: developing processes, knowledge management, business materials

  • Graduate-level student in public policy, international affairs, social work, MBA or related topic
  • Commitment to social justice, overcoming poverty, addressing inequality, advancing sustainability, or another important societal issue
  • Minimum 2 years work experience (combination of private and public sectors is a plus)
  • Great listener
  • Excellent skills in research, analysis and writing
  • Flexible individual with the ability to work with a diverse group of people across tasks and projects
  • Mature individual with the ability to model Synergos’ values including compassion, humility, integrity, collaboration and personal reflection
  • Deftness in PowerPoint, excel, MS Office and Google collaboration tools
  • Fluency in a second language desired
