About University for a Night

Started in 1997, University for a Night is a unique annual gathering of leaders from business, government, civil society and philanthropy. It is an evening of dialogue, offering an opportunity for people from diverse places, backgrounds and interests to learn from each other, to share experiences and ideas, and make connections that will help address issues of global poverty and equity.

You contribution through University for a Night also provides direct support for Synergos' work.

The name "Synergos" comes from the Greek root meaning "working together." We address global poverty and social injustice through a process of collaboration. Bringing together the most influential people and institutions in government, business and civil society, as well as poor and marginalized communities who are usually left out of the process, we help every part of society work together to create long-term progress. In over twenty years, Synergos has supported innovative global partnerships in more than 30 countries.

To promote and support these systems-changing collaborations, we help leaders and leading institutions learn from each other and access the ideas, people and resources that can help them make a greater impact in addressing issues of poverty, equity and social justice.
