TRIBUTE TO DAVID ROCKEFELLER
University for a Night participants honored David Rockefeller, an individual who exemplifies what the evening stands for -- working together for the common good. His myriad accomlishments as both a business and civic leader have highlighted the importance of bringing people together for action. Among his many accomplishments in bridging divides in the us are fostering public-private partnerships for economic development and the arts in New York city and helping expand educational

While David Rockefeller and his family have been recognized for their philanthropy on many
occasions, this is a different type of recognition -- one that singles out an individual,
who throughout his life, has been extraordinarily aware of the larger world and has sought
to bring people together to solve problems.

economic and cultural relations on a worldwide basis, as well as leading initiatives to strengthen private enterprise in developing nations.
Mr. Rockefeller's life exemplifies the importance of bridging across differences to find common ground.
Mr. Rockefeller was presented with a Bridging Leadership Tribute Album containing a collection of congratulations, anecdotes about his life, and best wishes from university for a night sponsors and participants. This specially bound album served as a small reminder of the historic impact Mr. Rockefeller has had on our world. Copies of the album will be given to all participants. A brief film on Mr. Rockefeller's life was also be presented during the evening and made available on CD to all University for a Night participants.
