Eligibility Assessment: Should I Apply?

Please answer the following questions before completing the longer application to better assess your eligibility for the Social Innovators Program. This is not intended to be scored but rather serves as a way to evaluate whether you and your innovation meet the selection criteria, program guidelines and requirements for the program.

If your answer is "YES" to all the questions below, we welcome you to complete the program application. If not, please review the selection criteria, program guidelines and requirements again to ensure that you are applicable for the program.

General

  • Is your innovation for the benefit of people living in Egypt, Jordan, Lebanon, Morocco or Palestine?
  • Are you and your organization independent (that is, not employed or fully funded by any national or government agency)?
  • Are you willing and able to participate in regional and/or international meetings that may require international travel and time away from home each year?
  • Do you have a basic command of the English language? Are you comfortable enough with spoken English to be interviewed in English by Synergos staff?

Innovation

  • Is your innovation contributing to the reduction of poverty and inequity?
  • Would you describe your innovation as an idea that has the potential to change prevailing systems and patterns that contribute to poverty and inequity?

Stage of Innovation & Social Impact

  • Does your social project have a proven track record of success at solving an economic, social or environmental problem in your community?
  • Has your innovation made a positive change on a local or community level?
  • Does your innovation demonstrate the potential for replication at the national or even international level?

Innovative Quality

  • Are you driven by a vision to create social change and break old patterns of action and perception?
  • Do you persevere to refine, test and spread this remarkable new idea, methodology or approach?
  • Do you have a long-term commitment to social change?

Collaborative and Inclusive Approach

  • Does your decision-making process involve community participation?
  • Has your innovation become a valuable asset to your community?
  • Are you working in partnership with any other organizations in the other sectors of society (associations, social enterprises, businesses or government agencies) to develop and strengthen your social innovation?
