Middle East/North Africa Social Innovators Program
To Become a Social Innovator
Do you have a new solution to a social, economic or environmental problem that has helped make a difference for people in your community? Would additional professional and financial support increase the long-term impact of your project? If so, you may be the Social Innovator that Synergos is looking for to join our exciting program.
About the Program
Started in October 2007 with funding from USAID and other donors, the Synergos Social Innovators Program is a three-year program created to identify and support twenty creative individuals who are implementing successful social projects in Egypt, Jordan, Lebanon, Morocco or Palestine. Social Innovations should be focused on one or more of the following fields: economic, social or sustainable development; health; education; and culture. The Synergos program will help Social Innovators transform small-scale projects into sustainable organizations that are working to bring lasting social progress to their communities and beyond.
Program Benefits
If you are selected as a Social Innovator, you will have access to:
- Training, mentoring and peer learning through our network of professionals and social entrepreneurs to help build financial and organizational sustainability for your innovation.
- Facilitating connections to business, government, philanthropic and other civil society leaders in your area and across the world to leverage your innovation and make a greater impact.
- Financial awards of up to $17,000 per year, for two years, to help you develop your social venture.
How to Apply
The application period for the Middle East North Africa Social Innovators Program opened on May 5 and closes on September 15. Social innovators interested in applying to the Program must first review the selection criteria and program guidelines as well as the eligibility assessment before completing an application. Eligible candidates can then complete an application in Arabic or English via the internet or download a copy here for submission via postal mail.
