About the Senior Fellows
The Senior Fellows Network is a leadership development and peer learning program comprised of distinguished international leaders committed to collaborative efforts that address the underlying causes of poverty and inequity. Learn more

- currently be in a full-time, high level leadership position of a non-profit, non-governmental organization that focuses on poverty alleviation, social justice or community development
- have a notable, rich professional history of innovation, accomplishment and distinction
- have proven experience in or a demonstrable commitment to working in partnership with other non-governmental organizations, government and/or business to solve complex problems that are due to poverty or inequity
- possess or be committed to developing leadership qualities that successfully create and sustain effective working relationships among key partners and stakeholders across society's sectors
- be committed to addressing the systemic, root causes of poverty and inequity
- have a demonstrable commitment to the participation of and accountability to the communities they serve
- agree with Synergos’ mission, vision, and values
- have a high proficiency of English
- commit a minimum of 14 days per year to fellowship activities (excluding travel time)
- be willing and able to travel internationally
Applications will not be considered from an applicant
- who is an independent consultant or works for a consultancy firm
- whose primary occupation is with a for-profit or governmental agency
Synergos will cover Fellows' expenses related to fellowship activities (if Fellows themselves or their institutions are not in a position to do so). Stipends or other financial disbursements are not provided.
Program Requirements
During the three-year fellowship, Senior Fellows are expected to
- attend regional and global convening events
- be open to collaborating with peers on regional or global collective action teams
- make themselves available for at least one field assignment
- make at least one significant contribution of knowledge or experience in their field of expertise or interest
