Abstract
In these remarks, Mr. Moctezuma examines the great creation of wealth that accompanies globalization and the rising challenge of poverty and inequity. He states that the current situation of increasing inequity is unacceptable. Among his conclusions are that more public spending on social issues and to support entrepreneurship is needed.
At the time of making these remarks, Mr. Moctezuma was Secretary of Social Development of Mexico.
