Abstract
This briefing paper, prepared by Synergos and the Global Philanthropy Partnership, gives an overview of issues in climate change, and the impact of climate change on the poor. It then examines ways in which communities are adapting to climate change and ways in which its affects can be mitigated.
Lastly, the paper provides suggestions of ways in which philanthropists can support action to address these issues, including support for advocacy, for initiatives to help communities and countries cope with climate change, and to strengthen institutions working on the issue.
