Abstract

On February 5, 2008, Dr. Mary Amuyunzu-Nyamongo, Executive Director of the African Institute for Health and Development and a Synergos Senior Fellow, met with members of the Global Philanthropists Circle and Synergos Senior Fellows to share her view on the recent election in Kenya and the violence that followed it. She discussed the impact the unrest has had on the communities in which she works, as well as her views on the underlying causes of the ethnic divide and what is needed for a peaceful path forward.
