Next Generation Discussion and Dinner
Consumption: Why we do so much of it and what it means for the global environment and communities

Our guest Ann Leonard, the Coordinator of the Funders Workgroup for Sustainable Production and Consumption will take us on a fast paced, fact-filled, and entertaining journey along the materials economy to uncover the often invisible impacts of the way we make, use and throw away stuff. From extraction through use and disposal, our daily choices affect communities at home and abroad, yet most of this is hidden from view. Ann exposes the underside of our consumption patterns, the connections between a variety of environmental and social issues, makes recommendations for another way and offers examples of fantastic work happening around the globe to create a more sustainable and just world. Previous audiences have said that they never looked at all the "stuff' in their lives the same after hearing this presentation. The discussion will be followed by dinner in this fun Brooklyn neighborhood. Contact Daniel Domagala at ddomagala@synergos.org.
