Trans-Atlantic Donors Dialogue foster cross-continental exchange
Launched in 1998, the mission of Trans-Atlantic Donors Dialogue (TADD -- www.efc.be/projects/tadd/) is to "build bridges across the Atlantic" for the purposes of engaging US and European private and public donors who "actively support and promote the development of people-to-people links and the strengthening civil society on both sides of the Atlantic." An initiative of the Luso-American Development Foundation (www.flad.pt) of Portugal and the German Marshall Fund (www.gmfus.org) of the United States, TADD is housed at the European Foundation Centre in Brussels.

Survey indicates US donors will continue to support other causes
Worries that charitable donations to support September 11 causes will hurt other charities are unwarranted, according to a survey by Independent Sector, a Washington-based coalition of major nonprofit organizations and grantmakers. A poll of 1,009 Americans conducted October 5-8 shows "mixed prospects for giving" but indicates that most donors to September 11 causes plan to maintain their traditional giving. The report, A Survey of Charitable Giving After September 11th, 2001, is available online at www.independentsector.org or for free from Public Affairs, Independent Sector, 1200 Eighteenth Street NW, Suite 200, Washington, DC 20036 USA; +1 (202) 467-6100
