Senior Fellows Intern (Graduate) - Research, writing and knowledge management

The Senior Fellows Network is comprised of distinguished international civil society leaders committed to collaborative efforts that address the underlying causes of poverty and inequity. The program links the civil society leaders in a worldwide learning, service and action network. The network aims to strengthen the capacity and opportunities for these leaders to be catalysts and play a major role in partnerships that address the systemic causes of poverty and promote sustainable social change. Through the three-year fellowship, Fellows have the opportunity to enhance their skills, knowledge, and expand their network. Majority of program activities are centered around peer-to-peer support and sharing of knowledge and skills.

Job Description and Responsibilities

The Senior Fellows Program seeks an intern in the area of research and writing. The goals are to create knowledge products relevant and useful to the Fellows, the Synergos Network and to the larger development community (these include practical guides, interviews, know-how articles, tools) in the areas of the Fellows work; and to provide research support for various areas of the program, including conference planning and recruitment. Specifically, the intern will be responsible for the following:

  • Research, prepare and conduct interviews with the Fellows and other members of the Synergos network; write articles based on the interviews.
  • Capture the knowledge from webinars and meetings for a larger audience.
  • Package all knowledge in the most effective way, especially using interactive online tools.
  • Conduct research to support conference and recruitment activities.
  • Qualifications

    • Graduate student of development, policy, international studies or related field, or graduate student in journalism with knowledge of the development field.
    • Excellent writing skills.
    • Excellent communication skills.
    • Excellent research skills.
    • Independent, proactive and able to work with minimal supervision.
    • Detail oriented, highly organized and resourceful.
    • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs.

    Terms of Internship

    For qualified candidates we offer a rich learning experience, exposure to global ideas and civil society leaders, relaxed and professional work environment and flexible hours. Working remotely is also available.

    Times are flexible but a commitment of at least 3 months is expected. Longer periods are possible. Please note that this internship is unpaid, but reimbursement for public transportation costs will be provided.
