Sixto Donato (Sixdon) C. Macasaet is the Executive Director of the Caucus of Development NGO Networks (CODE-NGO), the largest coalition of social development non-governmental organizations in the Philippines. Mr. Macasaet has also worked as a rural community organizer, policy research and advocacy officer, development manager and as a networker for NGOs, peasant organizations and cooperatives.

Mr. Macasaet has previously served as the Policy, Research and Institution Development Department Manager of a national network of cooperatives (2001-2005) and as the National Coordinator of a national federation of peasant organizations (1990-1996). He has also worked in the Philippine Congress as a legislative chief of staff (1998-2001) and as a consultant of the Congressional Commission on Agricultural Modernization.

Mr. Macasaet is currently a Co-Chair of the Steering Committee of the Affinity Group of National Associations (AGNA), a network with members from around 50 countries and which is linked to the Civicus World Alliance for Citizen Participation and is a Co-Convenor of the United Nations Civil Society Advisory Committee in the Philippines.

Mr. Macasaet graduated from the Ateneo de Manila University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in economics (cum laude) and holds a Master of Arts degree in public administration from the University of the Philippines”?Diliman. He is married and has three sons and a daughter.

CODE-NGO is composed of six national and six regional networks of NGOs. It was established in 1991 and works to influence public policy and implementation and to build up the capacity and governance of its members.
