Michael Sonnenfeldt

Michael Sonnenfeldt is the Chairman of MUUS & Company, a private investment company headquartered in New York City, founded in June,1998 after Mr. Sonnenfeldt sold his interest in Emmes & Company, a private, New York-based real estate investment group that was a leading buyer of distressed portfolios in the early 1990s. MUUS & Company is focused on financial investments, private equity, real estate, and is the controlling shareholder of Solar Outdoor Lighting, Inc., the largest dedicated manufacturer of industrial grade solar light products.

In 1980, Mr. Sonnenfeldt conceived and initiated the then world's largest commercial renovation, commencing the transformation of the 2,400,000 square foot Harborside Terminal in Jersey City, New Jersey - into The Harborside Financial Center. From 1982, Mr. Sonnenfeldt spearheaded the Harborside development with a team of over 100 professionals. From 1978 to 1979, Mr. Sonnenfeldt was an Associate of Goldman Sachs Realty Corp.

Mr. Sonnenfeldt is a Phi Beta Kappa and received his Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Management from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. During the 1988 Presidential Election, he was a contributing editor to a book entitled, "Democratic Blue Prints: National Leaders Chart America's Future." Mr. Sonnenfeldt has been actively involved over the last 25 years at senior levels in numerous non-profit organizations focused on national security, Middle East peace, international peacekeeping, the US/UN relationship, the removal of landmines and communal development. He has traveled extensively to speak with civic groups and universities on behalf of these organizations. Mr. Sonnenfeldt was recently named a Senior Lecturer at the Sloan School of Business at MIT for the 2003/4 school year.
