Marissa Camacho-Reyes
Marissa Socorro Camacho-Reyes is Executive Director of Worldwide Initiatives for Grantmaker Support (WINGS), a global network of grantmaker associations and organizations that promote and support philanthropy.
Before heading WINGS in January 2007, Ms. Camacho-Reyes was the Executive Director of the Jollibee Foundation, the corporate foundation organized by the top fast food company in the Philippines, and the president of the Philippine Center for Population and Development, a grantmaking organization in population policy research and advocacy.
Ms. Camacho-Reyes’ several years of experience in development work is mainly in the areas of community-based health, population and development, development finance/innovative resource mobilization, project development and management, foundation management and network building.
Ms. Camacho-Reyes has served on the boards of other non-profit organizations, including as trustee and president of the Association of Foundations; as trustee of the Philippine Council for NGO Certification ; as founding member of the board of the Peace, Equity and Access for Community Empowerment Foundation; and as member of the board and chairperson (of the Caucus of Development NGO Networks (CODE NGO), the largest network of Philippine NGOs.
Ms. Camacho-Reyes received her Bachelor of Arts degree in sociology from the University of the Philippines and has a Masters of Business Administration degree in health from the Ateneo de Manila University.
WINGS offers opportunities for shared information, learning experiences and networking within and between global regions for staff and board members in its network of over 100 organizations, many of which operate in contexts where foundations themselves are largely new or face unhelpful legal and fiscal environments. WINGS-CF is a constituent group of WINGS made up of organizations that support and develop community foundations and there is an emerging constituency within WINGS of organizations interested in promoting and supporting corporate giving. WINGS is an experiment in the creation of an entity which is genuinely a network, and which is seeking to learn, and share, lessons about effective ways of serving a global community.
