Mamta Borgoyary

Synergos Senior Fellow & CEO, FXB India Suraksha

Mamta Borgoyary is the Chief Executive Officer of FXB India Suraksha, a non-profit organization based in New Delhi, India. An agricultural economist by training, Mamta has over 19 years of experience in development, and has extensively worked across various sectors, including health, education, water and sanitation, rural livelihoods and natural resource management.

FXB India Suraksha works in thirteen states to empower communities, especially women and children to lead a life of dignity. The primary areas of intervention are on entrepreneurship development, gender-based violence (especially child sexual abuse and HT), Training, Research and advocacy on GBV, Sexual Reproductive Health, youth leadership (Age group 10 to 18 yrs), and quality education. They are intensely working on COVID relief and prevention as well.

Other work includes protecting the rights of children affected by poverty and disease, especially those affected by HIV/AIDS. Mamta spearheads the organization's implementation of the FXB-Village program, an integrated rights-based intervention program that ensures access to basic rights for vulnerable people and children. She also manages a program on health, education, water, and livelihood that is supported by government, national and international foundations.

She has participated in several evaluation studies of development projects funded by multi- and bilateral donor projects of the Department for International Development for the United Kingdom, the United Nations Development Programme, and the World Bank. Outside of India, she has worked in promoting rural enterprises in Vietnam and in contributing to the poverty strategy of energy projects of the Asian Development Bank in Manila. Mamta has also coordinated a program on the learning and knowledge-sharing of renewable energy that reaches 11 countries across Asia and Europe.

Prior to FXB India Suraksha, Mamta has worked for other development organizations, including The Energy and Resources Institute, Development Alternatives, and the Institute of Economic Growth.
