Felicitas Rixhon

Synergos Senior Fellow & Executive Director, Philippine Center for Population and Development

Felicitas (Fely) Rixhon is the Executive Director for the Philippine Center for Population and Development (PCPD), a grantmaking institution that promotes a better understanding of the relationship between population and development.

Formerly she was Executive Director of the Consuelo Foundation in Manila, Philippines where she guided the development and implementation of children and youth projects that address problems of marginalized and abused young people, out of school youth, among others. She also initiated a partnership and sustainability programs for Consuelo partners that included adoption of organizational standards. Prior to joining the Consuelo Foundation, Rixhon worked with the Ramon Magsaysay Award Foundation, the Asian Institute of Technology located in Thailand, and the Educational Development Implementing Task Force where she directed the Radio Assisted Teaching in Elementary Schools program among other initiatives.

Active in the Philippine NGO circle, Ms. Rixhon is currently the President of the Association of Foundations and a board member of the Caucus of Development NGO Networks (CODE-NGO) and the Philippine Council for NGO Certification.

Ms. Rixhon holds a Bachelor of Literature degree, major in journalism from the University of Santo Tomas and a Masters of Arts degree in communication from the Ateneo de Manila University.

PCPD believes that knowledge of the linkage between population and development will empower Filipino families to make informed decisions and actions that will result in an improved quality of life. The Center supports policy research, advocacy and project models that demonstrate how population and development are linked.
