Beth H. Cohen
Beth H. Cohen, Senior Director of the Global Philanthropists Circle (GPC), joined Synergos in January 2002. The GPC is a dynamic network of leading international philanthropists who are addressing questions of strategy, effectiveness and impact with peers and other global actors.
Before coming to Synergos, Ms. Cohen worked with Catholic Relief Services (CRS), as Senior Program Manager in Lima, Peru. In this role she coordinated the implementation of CRS Peru's capacity building and institutional strengthening program with local partners and led the program’s strategic planning process. Prior to that, she assessed the effectiveness of diverse poverty-related programs in Africa, Latin America and the Balkans as Internal Auditor for CRS. Beth also worked as a Change Management Consultant for Andersen Consulting where she designed and developed training programs for public sector clients in Texas and Puerto Rico.
Ms. Cohen holds a BA from the University of Pennsylvania and a joint Masters degree in Public Affairs and Latin American Studies from the University of Texas at Austin. Her thesis was on the role of participatory urban policy in Brazil's transition to democracy.
