Bader Zamareh, Palestine

Providing youth with educational, cultural and entertainment resources

In 2004, Bader with a group of Palestinian youth established the Sharek Youth Forum. The organization works towards meeting the needs of children who live in refugee camps and marginalized communities through a series of activities that combine fun and music with educational and cultural dimensions. Thus, the organization aims to build the capacities of children and entertain them through the creation of an atmosphere of fun and joy while educating the children and teaching them to use their free time in a useful manner.

Sharek Youth Forum has positioned itself as one of the leading independent, apolitical and impartial youth organizations in Palestine and is today a national and internationally recognized platform for youth-to-youth, youth-to-community, and youth-to-children interaction. After serving in a number of positions in the Forum, Bader is currently the Executive Director. He has written numerous articles and contributed to research on youth issues in Palestine. Moreover, he is an active member of a number of local and international youth groups and networks.
