He created Iqraa Ly, a mobile application and website to provide high quality narrated audio content, including articles and news updates, for commuters and other individuals. For those stuck in traffic, the mobile application is a welcome respite from the radio; for those with visual impairments, it is a vital source of information.
Already, the application has been downloaded close to 50,000 times, with over 100,000 listens every month. Iqraa Ly employs a team of women in underprivileged and rural areas to narrate the articles, providing employment for those with few work opportunities.
By engaging with its community of listeners, Iqraa Ly continues to evolve, broadening its offerings to include not just news, but discussions on broader topics and audio books.
