It is with great sadness that we share the news that one of our LINC Fellows in South Africa, Nombulelo (Buli) Mabombo passed away over the weekend. Buli joined LINC in 2009 while with Joburg Child Welfare where she served and responded to the needs of millions of vulnerable children for several years.
Buli was also instrumental in setting up the Othandweni Gogos Programme which has contributed extensively to the knowledge on which Synergos’ Social Connectedness work is built.
Always ready to give of herself, she joined the Synergos global board learning journey in 2015 and will be remembered for sharing her personal life experience living under the apartheid government. At the time of her death she was the national director of Lifeline South Africa. Her absence will be felt by LINC and the broader South African children’s sector.
