Help Response to Tropical Storm Ketsana

Tropical Storm Ketsana, known in the Philippines as “Typhoon Ondoy,” passed through the Philippines and Vietnam September 24–26.  Almost 2 million people have been affected by the storms in the Philippines, with over 350,000 people displaced and at least 240 people confirmed dead. In Vietnam, the death toll is over 32 people from what is the worst storm to hit that country in over 30 years.

Sonia Fadraigo, a Philippine member of of Shack/Slum Dwellers International writes:

“Biggest disaster ever. Don’t know where to start. Still gathering info as to how many died. Thousands of Fed members lost their houses -- washed out by the floods. We need help. Thank you for the concern. Please pray for us. Another typhoon coming.”
